The Body Shop Cranberry Collection
It’s officially my favorite time of year at The Body Shop. My all time favorite line of products is back in stock. Any product in the line is guaranteed to smell great. The lip balms and shimmer lotions add the little sparkle you’re looking for without being over the top. Wondering what it is?
It’s the Cranberry collection that comes out every holiday season. Every year I can’t wait to see it in stores and it’s been back for a few weeks now. I always stock up on the Cranberry Shimmer Lip Balm (my favorite in the entire line – $8) for the rest of the year. It smells amazing and it gives your lips a little touch of shimmer, great for the holidays. The Cranberry Home Fragrance Oil ($7.50) is also great, and the little bottle lasts for what seems like forever. The Cranberry Body Butter ($20) – like all of The Body Shop’s body butters is great too.
Run, don’t walk, to your local Body Shop and get some great gifts for the people on your Christmas list from the Cranberry line. And maybe get a little something for yourself too while you’re there. The Body Shop is also having a great sale on right now for all of their festive collections – buy 2 get 1 free!
The products in the Cranberry collection range from a very affordable $8 to $20.

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme
Great things come in small (environmentally friendly) packages. That’s definitely true of Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme. I found it this summer at my local drugstore and didn’t have a chance to start using it til a couple weeks ago.
First off, according to their website, Burt’s Bees is a “Earth Friendly, Natural Personal Care Company.” Their products are made of natural ingredients (all products have a percentage on the package of exactly how much of it is indeed natural – the Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme is 95% natural). They package their products in environmentally responsible ways, using as many recycled sources as possible. They also don’t do any testing on animals.
So, on to the review. In short, I love it! It’s not too greasy. You can do stuff right after you put it on, you don’t have to wait for it to dry or get absorbed. It stays where you put it, it’s a creme texture, not a liquid like some cuticle moisturizers so you don’t have to worry about making a mess. The lemon smell is unbelievable, I love it. If you’re not as big of a fan of the scent as I am, you can always put this on right before bed and then you don’t have to worry about smelling it. It does amazing moisturizing things for my cuticles. I have possibly the world’s driest hands and even worse cuticles. This definately passed the test for me. Having great looking cuticles is even more important this time of year, heading into winter because of the cold and dry air. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now and I can tell that it’s going to last forever, you really don’t have to put much on to have it work.
All in all it’s a great product that you should pick up if you haven’t already. Available at your local drugstore for $8.

Parlez Vous OPI?
When I first saw the new French Collection from OPI in a magazine I loved it. This shade, Parlez Vous OPI especially stuck out for me. I love the smokey purple shade. It’s so pretty and also a really unique color. There are some other beautiful colors in this collection such as You Don’t Know Jacques! and Eiffel For This Color. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on Parles Vous OPI.
This was my first bottle of OPI polish and of course was really excited to try it on. I have to say though that I didn’t like the brush. It made application hard cause it held way too much polish and when I swiped it on my nail there was just too much. I also find that if I put on coats of polish that are too thick they were more likely to chip soon rather than two thin coats. So after a couple times though I have started to get the hang of the brush and have a lot more control.
All in all though I think this product is worth the $12, even if the brush isn’t the greatest. This may be the one brand of polish I splurge on once or twice a year.
As always, OPI is Toluene, Formaldehyde, and DBP free.
Available at your salon or London Drugs for $12.

Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel Off Mask
I actually bought this awhile ago and I’ve been putting off reviewing it. I’ve been hoping that I would end up liking it more the more I used it, but that’s just not the case with this mask.
First off it takes what seems like forever to dry. I’m always careful not to put too much and to put it on evenly cause I know how long it takes to dry, but it still seems like it takes a long time to dry, longer than the 5 to 10 minutes recommended.
Second, you have to be extremely careful not to get it in your eyebrows or else it really hurts to take off. It almost feels like your pulling the hair off. Not a good feeling when you’re trying to pamper yourself.
Once it’s off though my face does feel extremely soft and clean. I really like the smell of it too. Overall this isn’t going to be my go to mask, but I will use it when my skin feels like it needs an extra deep clean.
Available at your local drugstore for $5.

Sunsilk Daring Volume Volumizing Spray
I have hair that refuses to have volume or body. It makes me crazy. I also don’t like having a ton of product in my hair – it end up weights my hair down and makes it feel greasy. When I saw Sunsilk’s Volumizing Spray at the drugstore I had to try it.
I’m actually pretty impressed. It does give my hair more volume, right where it needs it. Although the volume doesn’t last through the night, it definately last throughout the day. It’s not too heavy and I can’t even tell it’s in my hair. It doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy either. It has a light scent, which I really like.
To apply it, spray it into your hair at the roots, then brush the product through to the ends of your hair.
Sunsilk has recently introduced four new collections; Waves of Envy, Captivating Curls, Straight to Perfection, and of course Daring Volume. If you’re interested in checking this product out, or any of the other Sunsilk products, head over to the Sunsilk website and sign up for a $1.50 off coupon. You can’t go wrong with that. I’ve already gotten mine and used it.
Available at your local drugstore for $4.

Sephora Holiday Catalog
Now that Halloween is over the Christmas shopping has now begun apparently, according to all the ads I’ve been seeing the last few days. I got the Sephora Holiday Catalog in the mail this week. So many pretty things to put on my Christmas list and to buy for my friends and family. There are a few things that have caught my eye so far; the Stila Lip Glaze gift set, Philosophy Recipe Box, and Vanilla Creme Body Lotion. If you want your own catalog you can sign up for one on the Sephora website. There are also a ton of gift ideas on the Sephora website.
I’ve already started my Christmas shopping. Although I still have a long way to go, it still feels good to at least have a head start. My plan is to hopefully be done in a couple weeks so that I’ll be able to avoid the mall during December.
Happy holiday shopping!

ChapStick
Winter is coming (if it’s not already arrived in your part of the world). That means cold weather, lots of time indoors, snow, and dry air. All of which means you’re going to have to take extra special care of your lips. You can never have too many lip balms this time of year. I picked up ChapStick the last time I was in need of some lip balm.
It does keep my lips feeling moisturized, plus I get to smell the scent of cherry. I didn’t like applying it before I put on lip gloss – it just felt a little weird, like the gloss wasn’t going to stay on my lips. I’ve never had the problem before. I’ve always put lip balm on before lip gloss. It also doesn’t have any SPF, which I really want in a lip balm. There are ChapStick products available with an SPF of up to 30, but the SPF isn’t available in all their products.
I picked the cherry flavor, but it’s also available in strawberry, spearmint, and the original, all of which are ChapStick’s classic flavors. I think next time I’ll try the ChapStick 100% Naturals to see if I like them anymore.
Available at your local drugstore for $2.
