Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

Posted in Eye Makeup Remover, Eyes, Product Review, The Body Shop at 6:00 am by geeekygirl

Good morning ladies. It’s back to work after the long weekend. Doesn’t it always seem harder to go back after an extra day or two off?

The Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover is just what I was looking for. I was using another brand that was causing a reaction, so when I was at The Body Shop browsing and saw this I had to try it.

As I’ve mentioned before I have really sensitive skin. It makes me crazy. I try to avoid products with fragrances and other extra ingredients. What stuck out for me when I saw this is in the store was the gentle part. And I have to say I’m happy it did. This eye makeup remover gets rid of all the eye makeup. You don’t have to pull or tug on the delicate skin around your eye. It leaves your lids feeling clean and refreshed with no greasy or oily residues.

Available at The Body Shop for $14.50.

L’oreal Eye Makeup Remover

Posted in Eye Makeup Remover, Eyes, L'oreal, Product Review at 4:48 pm by geeekygirl

I have to say that I’m really impressed with this eye makeup remover. It takes everything off (eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara) without pulling or tugging. The smell is pleasant, it’s not too over the top. I always use oil free eye makeup remover cause my skin is oily enough on it’s own, without adding any extra oil. It’s safe for people who wear contacts, as well as dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested according to drugstore.com.

I have heard some complaints that it doesn’t remove waterproof mascara. I don’t have any waterproof mascara at the moment but next time I get some I’ll try it with this eye makeup remover and tell you how it goes.

All in all I have to say that I really like this product. I think it just might be my go to eye makeup remover.

Available at drugstores for $10

PS I tried adding a pic of it but wordpress isn’t cooperating at the moment, so I’ll try to add it later.

Maybelline Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover

Posted in Eye Makeup Remover, Eyes, Maybelline, Product Review at 1:30 pm by geeekygirl

To be honest I’ve been using this product for years. I loved it (and it’s low price). Or at least I thought I did until I tried something different.

My big draw to this particular eye makeup remover was that it didn’t have an overwhelming scent. If I’m taking my makeup off for bed I don’t like to be able to smell anything on my face. I also liked it because it was oil free.

During the last six months or so I’ve been trying different eye makeup removers though and I have to say that I’m surprised that I used this one for so long, cause if I had tried other ones I wouldn’t still be using this one. I though that it was normal for there to still be a little mascara residue on your lashes, but it’s not! I’m amazed at how much makeup it didn’t get off until I was able to find something that got it all off.

A few years ago they changed the design of the lid from a screw off one to one that flips up (although you can still screw it off). I tried and tried to figure out how to get the right amount of the makeup remover onto the cotton ball with the flip up lid but I just couldn’t do it. So I went back to screwing off hte lid like I had before. If you’re going to change how you get the product out of the bottle, at least test it out and see if it works better than how it was before.

All in all I’d recommend trying another brand of eye makeup remover. This one just doesn’t get everything off.
