Revlon Tropical Teal nail polish

Posted in Nail Polish, Product Review, Revlon at 2:58 am by geeekygirl

I picked up Revlon’s new Tropical Teal nail polish this week and tried it out on my nails a few days ago. I really liked the color and thought it was great with all the bright colors in nail polish this summer. I haven’t used Revlon polish in a long time was interested in how it would work out.

While I loved it in the bottle, the color looks more blue in the bottle than on my nails, where it looks almost green. I do like the color though, even if it’s not what I was expecting. One thing that I really like about it though is that it’s formaldehyde and toluene free.

I wasn’t entirely impressed with how it went on, I found the brush a little hard to control, resulting in nail polish where it shouldn’t be. But the Q-tips and nail polish remover weren’t far so it was easily fixed. I think it might just take awhile for me and my not-so-good hand eye coordination to get used to the brush.

I applied a coat of Sally Hansen Extended Wear base coat on my clean nails first to make sure that the Tropical Teal would get a good hold onto my nails. Then I put on two coats of the nail polish (there’s no way one coat would have good enough coverage) and then another coat of L’Oreal’s top coat. So far it hasn’t chipped, which is good. I hate having chipped polish, it looks sloppy to me.

I picked Tropical Teal up for $5 or $6 at London Drugs.

UPDATE: Five days after I put it on there’s still no chipping! That’s amazing for my nails.
